Kiwa Group to acquire CSA Group's Testing, Inspection and Certification business for approximately C$2.1 billion

BLG is acting as counsel to Kiwa N.V. in connection with its agreement to purchase the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) business of Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Group for approximately C$2.1 billion.

CSA Group’s TIC business is one of the leading providers of TIC services in North America. Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, it operates 20 specialized laboratories in 12 countries and employs around 2,100 people.

Kiwa, a Dutch company, provides assurance, testing, inspection, certification, training and consultancy services globally, with over 12,000 employees in over 35 countries. Together, the businesses can provide customers with a global option with a single partner.

Following the transaction, CSA will continue as an independent, member-based, not-for-profit organization focused on standards development.
