Rick is one of Canada's leading infrastructure, surety and construction lawyers, with more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He brings practical legal and industry-specific expertise to each client engagement and is uniquely positioned as both a barrister and a transactional lawyer.

Rick is recognized for his unrivalled P3 experience in the healthcare sector, having been extensively involved in healthcare infrastructure projects across Ontario.

He specializes in construction, surety and procurement law, including:

  • construction contracts and project delivery methods
  • public infrastructure renewal
  • construction disputes
  • construction liens
  • construction insurance
  • surety bonds

Rick has been actively involved in a large number of construction and infrastructure projects – successfully leading transaction teams and closing a number of public-private partnership deals, as well as crafting complex project agreements.

He also has extensive experience in dispute resolution, and has appeared at every level of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
