As a member of the Construction Group, Callan practices civil litigation and dispute resolution in the areas of construction and insurance.
Callan acts primarily for contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and other design professionals in construction dispute claims, including claims for coverage and indemnification against insurers on complex Builder's Risk, Wrap-Up, Commercial General Liability, and Professional Liability policies. Callan has worked on files involving the construction of mines, marine terminals, hospitals, universities, residential developments, and infrastructure projects. Callan also has experience in domestic arbitrations.
Prior to being at BLG, Callan worked for a regional law firm acting primarily for insurers in defending insureds as well as defending coverage claims, providing Callan with insight into how insurers approach adjusting and covering claims by insureds.
Callan has advocated on behalf of clients in the Supreme and Provincial Courts of British Columbia and the Court of King's Bench of Saskatchewan. Callan is also fluent in German.
