Keegan defends hospitals, healthcare organizations and professionals against allegations of professional misconduct and negligence in both civil and regulatory contexts. He also represents corporate and individual clients in a broad range of commercial disputes, including contract disputes, product liability claims and class actions.
Keegan regularly advises clients on matters related to medical devices and technology, regulatory compliance, incident reporting, adverse events, physician credentialing, privacy, disclosure and risk management.
Keegan has acted as lead counsel at all levels of court in Ontario, and has represented clients before other courts, administrative bodies and tribunals, including the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the Consent and Capacity Board, the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. For several years, Keegan taught the Trial Advocacy course at Queen's University as an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Law.
