Katrina is a disputes associate and primarily practices labour and employment law, with a focus on education law, labour relations, human rights and governance issues. Katrina routinely advises school boards and other public and private sector organizations on a broad range of workplace and governance matters, including navigating complex workplace investigations, accommodation and accessibility matters, student and employee discipline issues, policy development, and regulatory compliance.
Katrina also assists clients in grievance arbitrations, mediations, human rights proceedings, judicial reviews, and other tribunal and court matters. She regularly appears before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Divisional Court.
Before returning to the firm as an associate, Katrina summered and articled at BLG. During her articles, she was seconded to the Electrical Safety Authority. Prior to law school, Katrina worked in the social services sector, including with the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto, and was actively involved in community-based advocacy initiatives.
