Joey is a summer student in BLG’s Toronto office for the 2022 summer. He is focusing on business law.
As a JD/MBA student, Joey served as a representative for both the Osgoode Business Law Society and the Osgoode Privacy Law Society, as well as a management consultant for the Centre for Customer Centricity. Prior to joining BLG, Joey led a regulatory compliance consulting service used by 100+ financial institutions across Canada.
He has also worked in the financial technology (fintech) sector developing compliance programs for clients, conducting oversight audits, and launching new products into the market, as well as in business immigration advising clients and drafting government applications as part of a prominent full-service firm.
During his undergraduate program, Joey completed internships with a boutique law firm and the federal government, and he also conducted interdisciplinary research as part of the Comparative Healthcare Systems Program and the McGill Laboratory for Natural and Simulated Cognition. Prior to pursuing law, Joey ran a small web development and online marketing company.
Joey was excited to join BLG because of the firm’s commitment to continual professional development and being at the forefront of business and legal developments to deliver client excellence. Joey is continually impressed by the passion and knowledge of BLG’s practitioners.
In his spare time, Joey enjoys trying out new restaurants with friends and travelling abroad.
