Mathieu’s diversified insurance practice involves working with insurance industry leaders and major product manufacturers and distributors. He acts both in defence and in subrogation. He also represents contractors in construction-related disputes and claims.
Mathieu joined BLG following his articling. Previously, he had the opportunity to complete a secondment in Bell’s legal department, during which he developed an in-depth knowledge of ESG in Canada.
Experience
- Excavation Chicoutimi Inc. (ECI) in a claim for extras not paid by Hydro-Québec, dating back to 2006. Mathieu helped to prepare the case and develop the argument regarding the objections raised by the defence. BLG subsequently obtained a very favourable settlement for the client, ahead of the originally scheduled five-month trial.
