Evan's practice focuses on representing surety and construction industry clients, including bonding companies, owners, general contractors, subcontractors, designers and consultants.
Evan has experience in a robust range of construction law matters, including performance bond disputes involving municipalities and Crown agencies, payment bond disputes, surety indemnity actions, delay claims and deficiency and warranty claims, as well as construction lien, breach of trust and negligence actions. He also drafts construction industry contracts and advises clients on procurement, public infrastructure and development issues.
Evan regularly appears in Ontario courts on construction law and commercial litigation matters. He also represents clients in arbitration proceedings and mediations.
Prior to joining BLG, in addition to his construction law and construction lien litigation practice, Evan maintained a general commercial litigation practice that included real estate, insolvency and commercial leasing disputes.
